Massmart feels the pinch along with consumers – Business Day,
22 August 2013 Walmart-owned Massmart on Thursday reported a 9.9% fall
in first-half profit, as consumers in Africa’s largest economy came under
pressure. Massmart said headline earnings per share before currency swings were
at 181c in for the six months to end- June, compared with 201c previously.
UK tries to reduce budget deficit as economy heals - Business
Day, 22 August 2013 The UK posted its first July budget deficit since
2010 on Wednesday, as an increase in government spending outstripped tax
revenue. The UK’s economic recovery has gathered energy in recent months, which
